With an extensive knowledge of art and science, Kirsten takes a surreal approach in exploring ecology and anatomy of humans and animals in A Hoary Fiction. Concepts regarding both subjects are present in oil paintings of the dissolving human figure, while the body symbolically births renewal. All of the pieces from this collection welcome a sense of humour and are expected to push the ‘expected’ social limits. Each of the pieces has its own unique story and is meant to captivate and swallow you whole. The sculptures represent characters drawn from the artists mind and the paintings being almost the backdrop and atmosphere in which these characters live in.
